International Self-Report Delinquency Study (ISRD)

Doctoral Thesis Dissertation using Cape Verde Data

José Jorge Dias, member of the ISRD3 international research team, successfully defended his Doctoral Thesis Dissertation at the School of Psychology, University of Minho, Portugal, directed by Dr. Rui Abrunhosa Gonçalves. The Thesis Dissertation was approved by the Jury with Unanimity as “Good with Distinction”, on July 10th, 2015. The Dissertation was entitled “Juvenile Delinquency in Cape Verde: The Characterization of Socio-Cultural Context Phenomenon“.  The dissertation was considered a major research contribution to Cape Verde due to its focus on social repercussion issues, and the scarce available research of the target population in a developing country. Specifically, this study aimed to identify and understand the anti-social behavior of Cape Verdean youth in light of their socio-cultural context.
